In 1946 the Cuckoo Clock was erected by souvenir salesman Emil Kronberger in the Kaiser-Friedrich-Square. In the early 1950s, the clock was awarded the title of the "Largest Cuckoo Clock in the World". It strikes every half an hour between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m..
