Castle Eppstein is situated on a mountain ridge in the Taunus, surrounded by castle moats, fortifications and flank-towers. This beautiful ruin offers an amazing outlook over Eppstein and the nearby Bremthal.

The castle itself might be less famous if it wasn't the venue for a variety of cultural events. The traditional open-air theatre festivals that take place within its grounds are well-known throughout the region.
